Meet the Team

Kirk L. Kinard, D.O.

The Pascagoula, MS native began his medical career after a brief stint in the minor leagues with the Arizona Diamondbacks professional baseball organization upon graduating from Millsaps College in 1996. Dr. Kinard received his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003. He completed his Anesthesia residency and Pain Medicine fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Kinard maintains dual Board Certifications in both specialties.

He has served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Pain Society and is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Southern Pain Society and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Kinard is a regionally known speaker and serves on the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure.

The practice at Willow utilizes a comprehensive, multimodal approach to the management of a multitude of chronic painful conditions, including procedural, medical, psychotherapeutic, and rehabilitative efforts. Dr. Kinard has a special interest in and will focus his general approach toward, achieving his treatment goals (pain relief, improved physical function, enhanced quality of life) while minimizing the role of medications which can result in chemical dependency and addiction.

Teresa Hewlett, ANP

Teresa Hewlett, MSN, ANP-C is certified by the AmericanAcademy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed by the State of Mississippi.

In addition to her extensive clinical experience in internal medicine and pain management, she has earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and holds a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS.

She especially enjoys the opportunity to treat patients in her home town of Oxford, MS and the surrounding communities and believes in building a long-lasting, trusting relationships with her patients.

Teresa lives in Taylor, MS on a farm where she raised her three children and now enjoys her five grandchildren. Away from work, she enjoys spending time with family, riding horses, cooking, reading, and traveling.

Mamie Kosko, ANP

 

Mamie Kosko is a certified family nurse practitioner who has been practicing as an NP for the past nine years and an RN for 6 years prior to that time.  She completed her Master of Science degree in nursing in August 2011, graduating from Mississippi University for Women’s Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Mamie comes to Willow Pain and Wellness with extensive experience in orthopedic and neurosurgery care.

A Starkville, MS native, Mamie completed her undergraduate studies at Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. “I truly enjoy treating patients and look forward to helping those in Oxford and our surrounding communities at Willow.”

Mamie is a member of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and myriad nursing societies and associations. She is married to Paul Kosko of Greenwood, MS. They have three children: Bailey, Garrett, and Mary Mullins. During her free time, Mamie enjoys watching her children play sports, attending and watching college sports, and spending time with friends and family.

Christianne Curbow, FNP

Christianne comes to Willow Pain and Wellness with seven years of nurse practitioner experience, and the last four years in pain management. After receiving her BSN from Baptist College of Health Sciences, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Memphis in 2012. She has a passion for helping others and believes in treating the person and not just the pain. We are proud to have her join with Dr. Kinard to give patients the care they deserve.
